Banks, Bush Sweep PSUAC Women’s Soccer Honors

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State University Athletic Conference named freshman Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) women's soccer player of the week, while classmate Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) was lauded as the goalkeeper of the week after the duo helped Penn State Brandywine to a pair of conference victories last week.

Banks netted her third goal of the season in a 5-0 win over Penn State Mont Alto and then exploded for five first-half scores in an 11-0 triumph against Penn State Scranton.

She owns a PSUAC-best eight goals and 19 points, while standing in a three-way tie for first with three assists. Banks has found the back of the net at least once in each of Brandywine's four games.

Bush needed to stop just one shot in each game as she upped her record to 3-1 this season. She has posted shutouts in each of the Lions' three victories.

Bush, who was also named USCAA Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 6, has allowed just three goals in four games for a 0.75 goals-against average, the fourth-lowest mark nationally. She has also blocked 27 of the 30 shots she has faced, producing a .900 save percentage.

Brandywine (3-1, 2-0 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Greater Allegheny at Maple Zone on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
