Banks Nets Six In Victory Over GA

MEDIA, Pa. -- Freshman Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) broke her own program record with six goals to lead the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team to a 10-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference victory over Penn State Greater Allegheny on Wednesday afternoon.

Banks, who leads the PSUAC and ranks second in the USCAA in both goals (14) and points (32), found the back of the net five times during the first 45 minutes for the second time in four days and then set the school record by capping the scoring in the 73rd minute.

It took just 1:17 for Banks to give Brandywine a 1-0 lead and she quickly added a second score at the 5:08 mark. Arianna Segich (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) made the score 3-0 five minutes later, before Banks added three more tallies and Samantha Bearden (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) recorded a goal of her own to make the score 7-0 at the break.

Segich registered her second goal and Danielle Chattin (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) added a score in the second half for Brandywine, which held a 21-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) turned away the only shot she faced to pick up her fourth shutout in five games.

Brandywine (4-1, 3-0 PSUAC) heads west for a game at Penn State Beaver on Saturday beginning at noon.
