Brandywine Blanks GA 6-0

WHITE OAK, Pa. -- Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) and Rachel Weir (Neptune City, N.J./Red Bank Regional) combined for five first-half goals as the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team rolled to a 6-0 victory at Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday afternoon.

Banks scored three times, giving her a trio of hat tricks in 11 matches and nine goals in two games against GA this season, while Weir netted a pair of scored and added assists on two of Banks' goals.

Just three minutes into the game, Banks got the scoring started off a feed from Kierra MacLeod (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts). Weir doubled the lead at the 18-minute mark.

Banks tacked on her second goal with 14:46 to play in the first half. Weir padded the lead with a goal four minutes later before Banks completed the hat trick just before the end of the half.

Brooke Muhlbaier (Millville, N.J./Millville), this week's PSUAC Player of the Week, capped the scoring in the 85th minute.

Goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) stopped three shots to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Brandywine outshot Greater Allegheny 28-4.

Brandywine (10-1, 8-0 PSUAC) can secure the PSUAC regular season title with a win Thursday afternoon at Penn State Schuylkill (3:00 pm).
