Banks And Bush Sweep Conference Player Of The Week Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Sophomores Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) and Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) both earned weekly awards from the Penn State University Athletic Conference on Tuesday as Banks was selected as the player of the week and Bush landed goalkeeper of the week honors after leading the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team a pair of victories.

Banks, the 2016 PSUAC Player of the Year, scored three times in victories over Keystone and Cairn as the Lions extended their unbeaten streak to three matches to begin the season. She scored twice at Cairn for her eighth career multi-goal effort.

On Tuesday, Banks added two more goals during Brandywine's 5-1 victory over NCAA Division II Lincoln University to move into a tie for the conference scoring lead with six goals. Banks topped the conference with 30 goals and 69 points as a freshman.

Bush stopped seven shots against Lincoln, giving her 27 saves in four matches this fall. After blocking seven shots versus Keystone, Bush turned away all three shots she faced at Cairn to collect the ninth shutout of her career in 20 matches.

A 2016 USCAA Second Team All-American, Bush leads the PSUAC with a .871 save percentage and 0.95 goals-against average this fall.

Brandywine plays its first conference game of the season on Saturday at Penn State Beaver (2:00 pm).
