Bush Wins Fourth-Straight Goalie Of The Week Honor; Jefferson Named Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the fourth time in as many weeks, while freshman Emily Jefferson (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII Regional) earned the conference's player of the week honor on Tuesday.

Bush collected her second shutout of the season and 10th of her career in Brandywine's only game last week, a 4-0 victory over previously unbeaten Penn State Schuylkill. She needed to make just one save in 90 minutes of action. In four games against Schuylkill over the last two seasons, Bush has posted a shutout during each match, making a total of three stops.

In seven starts this season, Bush owns a 6-0-1 record and a league-leading 0.97 goals-against average. She also tops the conference in save percentage (.833) and shutouts, while turning away 35 shots.

Jefferson netted her first collegiate goal during the victory over Schuylkill on Wednesday. The score came in the 78th minute, giving Brandywine a 3-0 lead. She also tallied an assist on Christina Kane's (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) goal that opened the scoring during the first half.

Jefferson has started all seven games this fall for Brandywine. She has posted one goal and two assists for four total points.

Brandywine (6-0-1) hosts Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
