Brandywine Blanks Hazleton To Continue Unbeaten Run

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team is now unbeaten in its last 19 regular-season match as the Lions posted a 2-0 shutout victory over Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday afternoon.

Brandywine, which owns a 7-0-1 record this season, has not lost a regular season game since Sept. 7, 2016 and claims the sixth-longest active unbeaten streak in the nation among all four-year colleges. Brandywine has also won 16-straight conference games, including a 4-0 mark this fall.

Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) netted both goals for Brandywine, lifting her season total to a conference-best 14. Banks needs just two points to reach 100 for her career as she has collected 44 goals and 10 assists in 24 career games.

Both of Banks' scores came during the first half. She netted the opening goal at the 25:03 mark and added her second of the match eight minutes later.

Banks recorded four of Brandywine's nine shots on goal, while Christina Kane (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) added a pair of shots on target.

Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) recorded her second-straight shutout, winning for the seventh time this season. She turned away six Hazleton shots, including four in the second half.

Brandywine continues its homestand on Monday against Penn State Schuylkill at 4:00 pm.
