Seven Players Score In Brandywine Victory At Lehigh Valley

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine received goals from seven different players during a 10-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference women's soccer romp at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Friday afternoon.

Eight of the Lions' goals came during the first 37 minutes with six different players accounting for those scores.

Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) scored the first of Brandywine's five goals during the opening 10 minutes of the match just 54 seconds after the first whistle blew. Amanda Roy (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) and Mariah Pierce (Philadelphia, Pa./Kensington Health Sciences Academy) added scores, while Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) found the back of the net twice.

Banks completed her hat trick during the 21st minute and Emily Jefferson (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII Regional) and Caroline Pathappillil (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) added goals before the break to make the count 8-0 at halftime.

Banks tacked on a fourth goal and Arianna Segich (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) capped the scoring during the final half.

Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) went untested during the match to register her second shutout of the season. Brandywine outshot Lehigh Valley 16-0.

Brandywine (2-3, 2-0 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Mont Alto for Senior Day on Sunday at 3:00 PM.
