MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 5-0 triumph over Penn State Mont Alto on Sunday afternoon.
Brandywine earned its third-straight PSUAC shutout to even its record at 3-3 overall, while celebrating seniors Arianna Segich (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) and Amanda Roy (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine).
Segich scored a pair of goals, as did Emily Jefferson (Sparta, N.J./Pop John XXIII Regional), and Danielle Chattin (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) capped the scoring in the 83rd minute.
Segich and Jefferson provided Brandywine with a 2-0 lead at the half with both scores coming on long strikes outside the box. Jefferson scored just 4:24 into the match, while Segich added her tally during the 21st minute.
A free kick by Segich resulted in the Lions' third goal of the game at the 61:57 mark and Jefferson upped the lead to 4-0 in the 72nd minute.
Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) stopped the only shot she faced to preserve the shutout. Brandywine outshot Mont Alto 33-3 overall, putting 17 on target.
Brandywine (3-3, 3-0 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Lehigh Valley on Tuesday at 4:00 PM. The Lions will go for the season sweep after defeating Lehigh Valley 10-0 on Sept. 28.
