Brandywine Drops Home Matches To Arcadia

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams both suffered a home loss to Arcadia on Saturday afternoon. The Lions dropped the men's match 9-0 and took a 7-2 defeat on the women's side.

After dropping all three doubles matches, the Lion women posted a pair of singles triumphs.

Katie Corey (Lansdowne, Pa./Agora Cyber Charter) split the first two sets of her No. 3 singles match with Amy MacNeill, winning the first frame 6-3, before falling in the second set by the same margin. Corey closed out the win by claiming the third set tiebreak 11-9.

Stephanie Bryan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Ridley) was also a winner, taking her fourth-flight matchup with Janelle Bradley in three sets. Bryan won the opening frame 6-2, dropped the second set 7-6, and then captured the win in a tiebreaker, 12-10.

Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) won four points in his No. 3 singles match, but fell 6-3, 6-1, while Phuc Nguyen Ho (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) won three points of his top-flight singles bout before falling in straight sets on the men's side.

The Brandywine men return to their home court Monday to face Immaculata (4:00 pm), while the women's team is idle until April 17 when it travels to Bryn Mawr.
