Kean Drops Brandywine 9-0

UNION, N.J. -- Kean University handed Penn State Brandywine a 9-0 women's tennis defeat on Friday afternoon in New Jersey.

Brandywine won a total of five games during singles play with Katie Corey (Lansdowne, Pa./Agora Cyber Charter) accounting for four of the wins in her No. 1 flight match. Corey was defeated in straight sets by Kean's Naylah Hinton 6-1, 6-3. Mabel Padilla-Cristostomo (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) also won a game, but fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

During doubles action, Corey and Vidya Nayak (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) suffered an 8-1 setback, while Padilla-Cristostomo and Jaemi Hammond (Media, Pa./Zama American) were defeated 8-2.

Brandywine (0-3) returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Rutgers-Camden. First serve is slated for noon.
