Lions Drop A Pair At Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. -- Penn State Brandywine was knocked off in a pair of three-set matches at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon, falling to the host Scarlet Raptors and Wilkes University.

Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) produced 10 of Brandywine's 21 kills and added 11 digs, but the Lions were bested by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-21 against Rutgers-Camden.

Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) totaled 21 assists, while Halee Kusner (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) tallied four kills.

Kelsey Zober (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) and Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) both registered 10 digs and Emily Battista (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) recorded nine digs.

Brandywine was unable to get any momentum against Wilkes, falling 25-17, 25-11, 25-20.

Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) led the offense with six kills, while Kusner and Poissant both collected five.

Poissant also accumulated a team-best 17 digs. Battista added six digs and both Civera and Zober had five. Stark handed out 21 assists.

Brandywine (10-4, 5-0 PSUAC) looks to bounce back Tuesday night at home against Penn State Schuylkill (7:00 pm).
