Brandywine Sweeps Beaver And GA At PSUAC Quad

MCKEESPORT, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine remained unbeaten in Penn State University Athletic Conference volleyball as the Lions posted a pair of sweeps at the Penn State Greater Allegheny quad match on Saturday afternoon. Brandywine topped Penn State Beaver by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 and bested GA 25-10, 25-22, 25-12.

Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) collected nine kills against Beaver, while Halee Kusner (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) registered eight and Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) added seven.

Civera also served up four aces and tallied 10 digs and Poissant led the team with 26 digs. Emily Battista (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) produced 22 digs, while Kelsey Zober (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) recorded nine and Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) tallied 11 digs along with 30 assists.

Against Greater Allegheny, Kusner paced the Lions with nine kills, Poissant tallied eight and Civera amassed seven kills. Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) collected five kills and a team-best five aces and Stark dished out 31 assists in addition to her 11 digs.

Battista and Poissant both added 19 digs, while Civera recorded 13 and Zober chipped in eight digs.

Brandywine (13-4, 8-0 PSUAC) concludes its weekend trip to Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon with matches against Penn State New Kensington (12:00 pm) and Penn State Fayette (2:00 pm), the only other unbeaten team in the PSUAC.
