MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team opened the afternoon by defeating defending PSUAC champion Penn State Fayette convincingly in straight sets and then closed out its annual Dig Pink quad matches with a sweep of Penn State New Kensington to give the Lions a 4-0 mark this weekend.

Brandywine, now 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the PSUAC, jumped on Fayette from the start, winning the first set by a score of 25-10. Kills by Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) and Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) and a pair of miscues from Fayette helped Brandywine score four-straight points to establish a 13-6 edge. Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) and Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) combined to put the frame away, tallying seven kills during an 8-0 Lions' run and Rikelle Taylor (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) finished off the set with a block.

Fayette led the second set 9-8 before the Lions responded with seven consecutive tallies as back-to-back kills from Stark and Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) capped the surge. The Lions' lead reached nine points on two occasions before Brandywine settled for the 25-16 triumph, building a two-sets-to-none edge.

Brandywine jumped all over Fayette during the final frame, scoring the first five points and 11 of the first 12. Fayette would not slim the deficit below seven points the rest of the way.
