Brandywine Picks Up PSUAC Victory At York

YORK, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team upped its conference record to 9-0 following a 3-0 (25-5, 25-7, 25-7) victory at Penn State York on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions' overall record now sits at 15-2, while York remained winless at 0-8. Brandywine is the only team in the PSUAC without a conference loss.

Brandywine totaled 25 aces on the day as Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) notched a team high eight, Jade James (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) tallied six and both Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) and Katrina Persaud (West Chester, Pa./Intl. Berkcley School) recorded five. Stark also collected 27 assists and a pair of digs, while Margot Gargus (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) and Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) led the team with seven kills a piece. Poissant and Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) both amassed six kills.

Defensively, James topped the Lions with four digs and Persaud added two. Gargus and Napoleon each registered two blocks.

Brandywine faces Bryn Athyn during its final nonconference match of the season on Monday night at 7:00 pm.
