BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine picked up two more Penn State University Athletic Conference volleyball victories on Sunday afternoon, earning three-set triumphs over Penn State Lehigh Valley (25-8, 25-16, 25-11) and Penn State Hazleton (25-8, 25-3, 25-8).
Against Lehigh Valley, Margot Gargus (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) paced the team with nine kills and six aces, while Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) also produced six aces and dished out 24 assists.
Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) and Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) each collected six kills and Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) recorded three. Kelly also tallied seven digs, while Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) topped the Lions with 10 digs and Rikelle Taylor (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) registered a team-best three blocks.
Led by Stark's 15 service aces and 27 assists, Brandywine cruised through Hazleton in the nightcap. Kelly recorded a team-best nine kills, while Gargus tallied eight and Poissant totaled six. Both Poissant and Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) served up five aces.
Defensively, Civera recorded five digs, Poissant collected three digs and Stark posted two blocks.
Brandywine (20-2, 13-0 PSUAC), which has now won 14-straight matches, returns home on Wednesday to host Penn State Schuylkill at 7:00 pm. The team will honor Poissant during Senior Night prior to the match.
