PSUAC Selects Poissant And Stark Players Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. --  The Penn State University Athletic Conference named Penn State Brandywine senior Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) as its volleyball player of the week, while junior Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) was named setter of the week on Tuesday.

The duo helped Brandywine clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming PSUAC Tournament as the Lions posted a pair of conference triumphs last week, defeating Penn State Schuylkill 3-0 before topping Penn State DuBois 3-1.

Stark set a season high with 45 assists against DuBois and totaled 67 assists overall last week. She also added four blocks and three digs against DuBois, while collecting 14 service aces in the three-set victory over Schuylkill.

Stark, now a three-time PSUAC Setter of the Week this fall, ranks second in the conference in total assists (623) and assists per set (8.31), while leading the league in aces (83).

Poissant reached double figures in both kills and digs during both matches last week. She tallied 14 kills and 10 digs against Schuylkill before adding 15 kills and 10 digs at DuBois. She also recorded three aces during the week.

Also a three-time PSUAC Player of the Week this season, Poissant is the team leader in kills with 238 and stands second on the team in both aces (54) and digs (184). Her kill total ranks her third in the league this fall.

Brandywine (22-2, 15-0 PSUAC) rounds out the regular season on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm with a home match against Penn State York.
