Brandywine Sweeps Past Scranton

DUNMORE, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine posted its second Penn State University Athletic Conference volleyball sweep of the week, earning a 3-0 victory at Penn State Scranton on Sunday by set scores of 25-13, 25-7, 25-17.

The Lions, winners of 20-straight conference matches, upped their record to 2-4 and now sit at 2-0 in league play.

Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) recorded 10 digs and six kills, while freshmen Jade Maloney (Claymont, Del./Brandywine), Julia Miles (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) and Sydney Stevens (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) all tallied seven digs.

Hope Coacher (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) topped the team with three solo blocks and Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) added five digs.

Offensively, Kelly led the way with seven kills, while Napoleon recorded three of Brandywine's 10 service aces. Kelly, Maloney and Alsatia Haas-Tome (Norwood, Pa./Interboro) all tallied two aces and Miles handed out 12 assists.

Brandywine visits Penn State Schuylkill on Wednesday for a 6:00 pm match.
