USCAA Names Kelly Player Of The Week; Miles Adds PSUAC Setter Of The Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) earned player of the week recognition from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, while freshman Julia Miles (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Setter of the Week on Tuesday.

Kelly and Miles were instrumental in leading Brandywine to a 2-1 week, including a pair of conference victories.

Kelly racked up 24 kills, 36 digs and four aces during the week. She set a career high with 20 digs in a 3-0 victory over Penn State Hazleton on Thursday and three days later, matched her career best with nine kills during a sweep of Penn State Scranton.

Through six matches, Kelly owns a team high 78 digs (seventh-highest total in PSUAC) and ranks second on the team with 37 kills.

Miles has increased her assist total each match this season, posting a 34-assist match most recently against Penn State Scranton. She added 31 helpers, 10 digs and three aces against Penn State Hazleton and also handed out 20 assists versus Bryn Mawr. Overall for the week, Miles averaged 8.5 assists per set.

This fall, Miles stands fourth in the conference, tallying 5.40 assists per set, while totaling 108 assists. She has also collected 50 digs and 10 kills.

Brandywine (2-4, 2-0 PSUAC) looks to remain undefeated in the PSUAC Wednesday at Penn State Schuylkill (6:00 pm).
