Lions Post Third-Straight PSUAC Sweep

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team won its third consecutive Penn State University Athletic Conference match in three sets (25-8, 25-20, 25-8), besting Penn State Schuylkill on Wednesday night.

With the victory, Brandywine improved to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the PSUAC. The Lions are now the only team in the conference's East Division without a league loss after dealing Schuylkill its first setback.

Jade Maloney (Claymont, Del./Brandywine) led all players with 10 kills, while Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) and Rikelle Taylor (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) both collected seven.

Sydney Stevens (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I.DuPont) recorded four aces and dished out three assists, while Julia Miles (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester), this week's PSUAC Setter of the Week, tallied 15 assists. Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East), named USCAA Player of the Week on Tuesday, added three aces and Napoleon chipped in with two.

Defensively, Taylor led the way with five solo blocks, while Hope Coacher (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) amassed four blocks (three solo). Maloney and Napoleon both registered three digs.

Brandywine steps out of conference play for a match at Ursinus College on Saturday beginning at 3:00 pm.
