Brandywine Splits Six Dig Pink Matches

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team finished out a busy, six-match weekend during its eighth-annual Dig Pink quad matches on Sunday, dropping straight-set matches to Marywood University and Cedar Crest College. On Saturday, Brandywine won three of its four matches, giving the Lions a 3-3 mark overall during the weekend.

Brandywine picked up victories over Penn State Wilkes-Barre (twice) and Pratt, while falling 3-0 to Moravian on Saturday.

Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) led the way on Saturday, totaling 38 kills and 18 digs over three matches. She added four kills and seven digs in the Lions' setback against Marywood on Sunday.

Julia Miles (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) dished out 27 assists against Pratt and collected 32 more helpers in six sets on Sunday. She also tallied 41 digs during the weekend, Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) compiled 53 digs in six Dig Pink matches.

Jade Maloney (Claymont, Del./Brandywine) has her top match of the weekend against Pratt, recording 12 kills and 20 digs. She amassed 39 kills and 58 digs overall.

Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) registered a career-best 17 kills against Wilkes Barre and added 18 digs against Cedar Crest on Sunday.

Brandywine's pair of victories over Wilkes-Barre upped the Lions' PSUAC record to 7-0. The Lions hold a two-game lead over Hazleton for first place and hold the tie-breaker, having swept the season series from Hazleton.

Brandywine (10-12, 7-0) hosts Penn State Scranton Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
