Brandywine Wins Two At York

YORK, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team completed its second-straight undefeated Penn State University Athletic Conference slate following a pair of 3-0 victories at Penn State York on Saturday. Set scores from the first match were 25-13, 25-16, 25-13, while the Lions claimed the second match 25-14, 25-14, 25-11.

After closing out the regular season with a non-conference match at Valley Forge on Monday, Brandywine, the No. 1 seed from the East Division, will host a PSUAC Tournament quarterfinal match against East No. 4 Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. The defending PSUAC champion, Brandywine defeated Lehigh Valley twice during the regular season in straight sets.

In two matches, Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) compiled 19 kills to pace the offense, while Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) totaled 11 kills. Julia Miles (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) added eight kills and 36 assists and Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) recorded all nine of her kills during the second match.

Brandywine tallied 24 aces during the opening game and set down 17 more service aces during match No. 2. Sydney Stevens (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) amassed 16 aces, while Miles collected 10 and Civera and Sarafinas both registered five.

Defensively, Sarafinas recorded four blocks in each match. Napoleon tallied 18 digs, while Stevens produced 16 and Madison Swenson (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) added 11.
