BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team dropped its season-opening match in straight sets on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-16) at Goucher.

Brandi James (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) tallied a team-best five kills, while Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Rikelle Taylor (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) both added three.

Rebecca Gonzalez (Clearwater, Fla./Washburn Academy) aided the offense with 12 assists and collected five digs, defensively.

Gianna Anthony (Newtown Square, Pa./Sacred Heart Academy) topped the Lions with eight digs, while Kira Thorne (Alconbury, England/Alconbury) recorded six.

Brandywine (0-1) faces Albright in Reading on Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 pm.
