Brandywine Earns Road Sweep Over Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine improved to 2-0 in Penn State University Athletic Conference volleyball as the Lions swept Penn State Scranton 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-13) on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions set down 16 service aces, with six coming from Gianna Anthony (Newtown Square, Pa./Sacred Heart Academy) and four by Hope Coacher (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford). Anthony also produced six digs and three kills.

Brandi James (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) led the Lions with six kills and seven digs, while Rikelle Taylor (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) collected five kills and four of Brandywine's nine blocks. Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) notched three kills and three blocks.

Hannah Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) totaled eight assists, three digs and two blocks, while Alsatia Haas-Tome (Norwood, Pa./Interboro) tallied six digs.

Brandywine (2-5, 2-0 PSUAC) will play its eighth consecutive road match Monday when the Lions travel to Valley Forge at 7:00 pm.
