Tyler Runs To PSUAC Weekly Award

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second-straight week, Penn State Brandywine freshman Anya Tyler (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week.

On Saturday at the Cairn Highlander Invitational, Tyler sped to a school-record time of 25:55 during the 6K race, eclipsing the previous record set by Robyn Gannon last year by 1:37. She finished ninth in the 89-runner race, one of four Brandywine competitors to place in the top 25.

One week earlier, Tyler set the program's 5K mark, besting the record by nearly two minutes, while placing 18th at the Bryn Mawr Invitational.

Brandywine will compete at the Penn State Abington Invitational this Saturday beginning at 8:00 am.
