Cross Country Competes At Abington Invitational

ABINGTON, Pa. -- A sixth-place finish from freshman Anya Tyler (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) highlighted the Penn State Brandywine cross country teams at the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday.

Tyler, who earned her second-straight top-10 finish, completed the 5K course in 23:17 for the sixth-best time in the field of 73 NCAA Division III runners.

Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) ran to a time of 33:09, while Angelica Rivers (Philadelphia, Pa./W.B. Saul) was the third female to cross the finish line for Brandywine, posting a time of 36:32.

John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) posted the top time for the Lions' men's team, finishing 24th in the 79-runner field in 32:02.

Alex Troncelliti (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) placed 40th with a time of 33:10, while Henry Lee (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) recorded a time of 38:43. Isaiah Gordon (Chester, Pa./Chichester) rounded out four runners for Brandywine in 40:58.

Brandywine will travel to central Pennsylvania for the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational next Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm.
