Brandywine Faces PSUAC Competition At Mont Alto

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine cross country teams faced runners from their PSUAC competition for the first time this season at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Lions' men's squad finished third overall.

Leading the Brandywine men was John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby), who ran to a fifth-place finish on the 6K course. Li ran the course in a time of 24:03, while David Fielding (West Chester, Pa./Salesianum) crossed the line just after Li in eighth place in a time of 24:23.

Steve Milnes (West Chester, Pa./Central Bucks South) placed 19th, while Luke Dixon (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) was 25th and William Ortiz (Queens, N.Y./Martin Luther School) rounded out the Lions in 34th. Milnes posted a time of 27:27, while Dixon ran the course in 28:54 and Ortiz clocked in at 34:22.

Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) was the lone woman to compete for Brandywine. She ran to a 10th-place showing, finishing the women's 6K race in 35:26.

Fayette claimed the men's team title with 30 points, while New Kensington was second and Brandywine's 71 points were good for third.

Brandywine is idle next Saturday in preparation for its home invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7. The women's race begins at 10:00 AM, while the men's race starts at 10:45 AM.
