Beaver Blanks Brandywine In Florida Finale

VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Penn State Brandywine baseball team suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of PSUAC rival Penn State Beaver on Thursday afternoon during the final game of its Spring Break trip in Vero Beach.

Brandywine was limited to six hits, five singles and double from Brett Sheeran (Springfield, Pa./Springfield). The Lions put a pair of runners on base during the third and seventh innings, but left a pair stranded on base in each frame.

A wild pitch allowed Beaver to take the lead in the second inning. Beaver added insurance runs with two scores in the fourth and four more in the seventh.

Bradley Ulmer (Newark, Del./St. George's Tech) went 6 1/3 innings on the mound for Brandywine, allowing seven runs (five earned), while striking out two.

Brandywine is idle until March 18 when it travels to Gwynedd Mercy for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm.
