Hunt Recognized As PSUAC Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine point guard Jacob Hunt (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week following the final week of the regular season on Tuesday.

Hunt helped Brandywine to a 1-1 week by averaging 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals as the Lions secured the third seed in the PSUAC Tournament, which starts with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday night.

In Brandywine's 88-85 regular-season finale victory over Penn State New Kensington, Hunt collected 22 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. One night earlier, he posted a 23-point performance at Penn State Shenango.

During 25 games this winter, Hunt, a freshman, paced the Lions in scoring (14.3 ppg), assists (3.8 apg) and steals (1.5 spg). He ranks 10th in the conference with 50 three-pointers and has trekked to the free throw line 129 times, the second-highest total in the league, shooting at a 71 percent clip from the charity stripe.

Brandywine (14-11) visits No. 2 Penn State York in the PSUAC Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
