Pat Gallagher Collects USCAA All-American Award

MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine senior guard Pat Gallagher (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball All-American honorable mention at the Division II awards banquet last week.

Gallagher, selected as a First Team All-Penn State University Athletic Conference guard in February, served as the Lions' top scorer and ranked 23rd nationally after averaging 17.8 points per game. He reached the 20-point mark seven times, also recording three 30-point performances and Brandywine's first 40-point game in 12 seasons.

The only Lion to start all 25 games this winter, Gallagher was a 46 percent shooter from the field and connected on 72 percent of his free throw tries, while making 45 three-pointers. He made at least four triples on six occasions, including a season-high six long balls against Valley Forge on Feb. 11.

Gallagher also finished the season as Brandywine's assist leader, ranking 16th in the USCAA at 4.3 helpers per game. He also averaged a team-leading 2.2 steals per game, good for 15th nationally, and was Brandywine's third-leading rebounder (5.3 rpg).

Gallagher completed his 80-game career this winter with 843 points, 262 rebounds and 214 assists.
