Brandywine Golfers Finish Seventh At Season-Opening PSUAC Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's golf team posted a seventh-place finish during its season opening round on Thursday at the 10-team PSUAC Invitational. The round was played at the University's White Course in State College.

Brandywine, in its second season after reinstating the program following a five-year hiatus, recorded a five-man team total of 347. Penn State Wilkes Barre claimed the team championship by totaling 317 strokes.

Leading the way for Brandywine was Austin Aurillo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin), who carded a round of 84 on the par-72 course. He finished in a tie for 18th in the 53-player field.

Jacob Sezna (Avondale, Pa./Salesianum) collected 86 strokes to place 23rd, while Brad Dawson (Pinecrest, N.C./Southern Pines) was right behind him, tied for 24th with a round of 88. Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) posted 89 strokes and Sean Illanovsky (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) finished the round by carding a 90. Rounding out the Brandywine golfers was Marc Pecko (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), who collected 98 strokes.

Austin Green of Penn State Mont Alto shot a four-under-par 68 on the 6,300-yard course to claim individual medalist honors.

Brandywine travels to DuBois Country Club for the Penn State DuBois Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 12 beginning at 11:00 AM.
