Brandywine Claims 12th At Frederick Anton Memorial

WILMINGTON, Del. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's golf team finished in 12th place at the 14-team Frederick Anton Memorial Invitational, co-hosted by Swarthmore College and Neumann University on Sunday at Rock Manor Golf Club.

Leading Brandywine individually were Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest) and Nick Anderson (Phoenixville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), who tied for 47th in the 72-man field. Both carded a round of 89 on the par-71, 6,400-yard course.

Two shots behind Brandywine's lead duo was Jacob Sezna (Avondale, Pa./Salesianum), while Sean Illanovsky (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) posted a round of 92. Completing the Lions' five-man team was Austin Aurillo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin), who finished the round in 92 strokes.

Overall, Brandywine recorded a team total of 361 strokes. Swarthmore claimed the team championship, tallying a total score of 301, 19 strokes in front of Ursinus, while the Bears' Kyle Quaglierro was the individual medalist, firing an even-par round of 71.

Brandywine returns to Penn State University Athletic Conference competition on Wednesday at the Penn State Schuylkill Invitational at Mountain Valley Golf Club.
