Brandywine Posts Third-Straight PSUAC Shutout

MCKEESPORT, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team continued its dominance of Penn State University Athletic Conference competition on Sunday as the Lions closed out their weekend trip to the western half of the state with a 7-0 shutout at Penn State Greater Allegheny.

The shutout was the third of the week for the Lions, who have now outscored conference foes 22-0 this fall. Brandywine improved to 5-2-2 overall after claiming its 29th-straight league victory.

Five different scorers found the back of the net for the Lions, including Daniel Willie (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) and Ronaldo Calle (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), who each contributed two goals and one assist to the victory. Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added a goal and a helper, while Mohamed Camara (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) and Luca D'Aprano (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) also got in the scoring column.

Willie produced Brandywine's first two goals, both during the first 10 minutes of the match. By the 20:11 mark, the Lions had doubled their lead to 4-0 following scores from Camara and Cairy.

Calle scored twice in a span of just 91 seconds midway through the second half, while D'Aprano registered his first collegiate goal during the 86th minute.

Brandywine dominated possession of the ball, outshooting Greater Allegheny 40-6. The Lions put 30 shots on target, forcing a pair of GA goalkeepers to combine for 23 saves. Brandon Welden (Essington, Pa./Interboro) went untested in net during the first half to earn his fifth win, while Jared Sebzda (Warminster, Pa./William Tennett) stopped two shots during the final 45 minutes.

Brandywine returns home for the first time in 18 days for a Wednesday match versus Saint Vincent College at 4:00 PM.
