Alex Sydor Joins Brandywine Men's Soccer Class of 2024

MEDIA, Pa. -- Alex Sydor has selected to continue his education and soccer career at Penn State Brandywine beginning in fall 2020.

Sydor, from White Plains, N.Y., earned three all-league awards during his four-year career at Ardsley High School. A three-year varsity letter winner and team captain as a senior, Sydor was also a two-time all-section honoree.

In addition to his high school career, Sydor played his travel ball for FC Westchester from 2013-19, helping the team win the New York State Cup in 2017. More recently, he competed for the New Jersey Stallions from 2019-20.

Outside of soccer, Sydor has had a successful international powerlifting career. In 2019, he was a high school powerlifting champion and raw national powerlifting champion in the 83 kilogram weight class.

Sydor chose to attend Penn State Brandywine because "it offered me the opportunity to continue my education and athletic pursuits at one of the top universities in the nation."

The Brandywine men's soccer class of 2024 now includes Sydor, Joey Kane and Kareem Sharaf as the Lions look to win their fifth-straight conference title in 2020.
