John Holstein Signs With Brandywine Men's Soccer

MEDIA, Pa. -- John Holstein, a graduate of nearby Strath Haven High School, will continue his education and soccer career at Penn State Brandywine beginning this fall.

Holstein, a four-year member of the soccer team at Strath Haven, earned All-Delco honorable mention as a senior. He helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back PIAA District 3A championships in 2018 and 2019. A starting lef back, Holstein played in consecutive Pennsylvania state championship matches during his final two seasons at Strath Haven.

In addition, Holstein has played club soccer for Nether United 1776 for the last 10 years, splitting time on the field between offense and defense.

Holstein chose to attend Penn State Brandywine because "The location is close to home; the campus is small and I feel I will have a great learning experience; and I was really impressed with Coach Greenawalt and the soccer program. I am excited to get started in the fall."

Holstein joins an incoming men's soccer class that includes Joey KaneMajid KawaDylan Mhloyi, Kyle ReuterKareem SharafJohn Simpson, Alex SydorTommy WengerNick Wolhafe and Chris Zavala.
