Manful Named USCAA Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- The United States Collegiate Athletic Association selected Penn State Brandywine's Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) as its men's soccer offensive player of the week on Tuesday.

Manful played a part in both of Brandywine's goals as the Lions earned a 2-1 victory over Dickinson College to open the season last week.

Manful started the scoring just 35 seconds into the match as he took a pass from Lex Smith (Centreville, Va./Casa Grande) and found the back of the net. With the score tied 1-1 early in the second half, Manful was taken down in the box, leading to a penalty kick that put Brandywine on top for good.

Manful, a junior, was playing his first game at Brandywine after transferring from Frederick Community College. At FCC, Manful recorded 24 goals and seven assists in 27 career matches.

Brandywine (1-0) hosts Carlow for the first round of its home tournament Saturday at 12:00 PM.
