Tom Greenawalt finished his first season as head men's soccer coach at Penn State Brandywine in 2019.

During his first year, Greenawalt guided the Lions to 17 victories, the second-highest, single-season total in team history, while capturing the PSUAC championship after going undefeated in conference play. Brandywine featured 10 all-conference performers and four all-Americans on a team that reached the USCAA National Championship.

Greenawalt arrived at Brandywine with seven years of head coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level where he compiled 79 total victories and four postseason appearances. Greenawalt spent three seasons as head women’s soccer coach at Albright College beginning in 2002, adding head men’s soccer coaching duties for the Lions in 2003, before moving on to Rutgers-Camden, where he was head women’s soccer coach from 2004-08.

A National “B” licensed coach, Greenawalt got his start in the college coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at Washington College in 1999. He served as an assistant coach at Haverford College during the 2001 season.

Greenawalt also owns professional playing experience, competing in 11 years of professional soccer for the Ocean City Barons, Reading Rage and Lehigh Valley Steamers. While playing for the Reading Rage, Greenawalt completed additional duties as the club’s camp director for four years.

Currently, Greenawalt is an assistant coach for the Top Shelf boys 2004 travel team, a capacity he has served in since 2013.

A former all-state high school soccer standout, Greenawalt was a four-year letter winner at Division I Marshall University on the men’s soccer team. He earned all-region and academic all-conference honors, while receiving his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and legal studies in 1999.
