Brandywine Completes Season Sweep Of Williamson

MEDIA, Pa. -- Eight days after defeating Williamson College of the Trades, the Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team did so again as the Lions bested the Mechanics 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.

Brandywine claimed four of the six singles matches, with all four victories coming in straight sets. Wenceslao Lara (North Brunswick Twp., N.J./North Brunswick) was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 1, while Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4.

At No. 5 singles, James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph and Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) rounded out the winners with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Ficarra and Cellucci also teamed to claim a doubles triumph, taking their third-flight match 8-1.

Lara and Ian Lillard (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) collected a victory by a score of 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Brandywine (8-2) rounds out the season Saturday afternoon at home against Rutgers-Camden at noon.
