Brandywine Eases To 8-1 Victory Over Williamson

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team won eight-of-nine matches to produce an 8-1 victory over Williamson College of the Trades on Wednesday afternoon.

Brandywine swept through three doubles matches. Tanuj Gaikwad (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Santiago Martinez (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio Gran Bretana) posted an 8-1 triumph, while Luke DeAngelis (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) and Walidad Ghuman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) blanked Williamson's Nathan Yoder and Colin Weber 8-0. Zackery Wall (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Yookang Nam combined for a No. 3 doubles win, 8-3.

Gaikwad posted a pair of 6-0 triumphs to win at No. 1 singles. DeAngelis and Martinez won their singles bouts by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores, while Ghuman claimed No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-1. Wall was also a straight-set winner, posting a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at fifth-flight singles.

Brandywine (4-5) closes out the regular season Tuesday in a home rematch with Williamson at 3:30 PM.
