Brandywine Knocks Off Williamson In Season Finale

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis wrapped up its 2022 season with an 8-1 victory over Williamson College of the Trades, its second triumph over the Mechanics in the last week, on Monday afternoon.

Brandywine secured three points during doubles action, including an 8-0 sweep at the top flight by Tanuj Gaikwad (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Santiago Martinez (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio Gran Bretana). Luke DeAngelis (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) and Walidad Ghuman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) teamed for an 8-4 victory at No. 2, while Zackery Wall (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Yookang Nam won by an identical 8-4 count at No. 3.

During singles action, Gaikwad posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 1. Martinez and DeAngelis won by 6-0, 6-1 scores, while Ghuman posted a 6-0, 6-2 straight-set victory at No. 4. Wall claimed his fifth-flight bout 6-1, 6-2.

Brandywine finished the season with a record of 5-5.
