Bio

Tim Sanville enters his fifth year on the track & field staff, while beginning his fourth season as a cross country coach at Brandywine during the 2021-22 academic year.

Sanville guided the first two all-Americans in the cross country program's history, Brian Abel and Catharine Mooney, during the 2019 season. Mooney also became Brandywine's first-ever conference medalist after winning the PSUAC Women's Cross Country Championship. The indoor track and field teams set numerous team marks before the outdoor season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

During the 2018 cross country season, Sanville led the Lions' men's team to a runner-up finish at the PSUAC Championship. Five Brandywine runners earned all-conference awards and four qualified for the USCAA National Championships after the quartet finished in the top six of their respective conference championship races. Freshmen Brian Abel and Catharine Mooney went on to post the highest finishes by Brandywine runners in team history at the USCAA National Championships.

Sanville's track & field teams shattered nearly every school indoor and outdoor record during the year, while competing in events alongside many NCAA Division I and Division II competitors.

Under Sanville's direction, the Brandywine men's track & field team placed eighth at the USCAA Championships during its second season as a varsity outdoor program. A pair of freshmen, Taufiq Brown and David White, claimed bronze medals during the championships. Sanville also led Brandywine during its first season of indoor track & field during the winter in 2017-18.

A USA Track & Field Level 1 certified coach, Sanville is a 2012 Penn State University graduate where he earned bachelor’s degrees in both philosophy and religious studies.

During his scholastic career, Sanville was a three-year member of the Susquenita High School track & field team. He was a district finalist in the hurdles and middle distance, while also competing in jumps.

Prior to coming to Brandywine this fall, Sanville served as an assistant track & field and cross country coach at Delaware County Christian School. Since 2016, Sanville helped to create individual workouts, developed a strength training program and assisted with the collegiate recruiting process at Delco Christian. During his time at Delco Christian, Sanville coached eight state qualifiers, including one state champion in 2017.
