Ray Miller Named Head Cross Country Coach

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine Director of Athletics Bobbi Caprice announced that Ray Miller has been named head coach of the Lions' men's and women's cross country teams on Wednesday.

Miller brings more than two decades of cross country and track and field coaching experience at the high school and NCAA Division III levels to Brandywine.

Most recently, he served as head track and field coach at Jenkintown High School from 2016-22. At Jenkintown, Miller coached 26 district medal winners and seven district champions, while winning the Bicentennial Athletic League's Constitution Division track and field championship in 2019. A two-time Bicentennial League Coach of the Year, seven of Miller's track and field student-athletes qualified for the PIAA state championships.

Miller's collegiate coaching experience includes two years as head cross country coach at Rosemont College, plus two years as an assistant cross country coach at Penn State Abington.

Under Miller's guidance, Rosemont produced six all-conference runners, including the first-ever first team all-league women's runner. His teams also succeeded in the classroom, earning 18 individual academic honors and the men's squad's first team academic award in 2018-19.

While at Abington, Miller led the recruiting effort for the cross country teams and helped the Lion men to a runner-up finish at the conference championships. Six of Abington's runners claimed all-conference laurels.

Miller, who began his cross country and track coaching career at Conwell-Egan High School from 1999-2004, also possesses coaching experience at Archbishop Wood High School and Nazareth Academy.

A 1998 graduate of DeSales University, Miller was an all-conference cross country runner for the Bulldogs as a freshman. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting and finance.
