Brandi James Lauded As USCAA Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine junior forward Brandi James (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was named women's basketball player of the week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association on Tuesday evening.

James led Brandywine to three Penn State University Athletic Conference road victories last week by averaging 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per outing.

After recording 16 points and four rebounds at DuBois on Friday, James tallied tallied the third 20-point game of her career less than 24 hours later during the Lions' 67-55 win at Mont Alto. She also hauled in 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double this winter. James closed out the three-game week by recording 11 points and eight boards in a 14-point win at Wilkes Barre on Monday.

Brandywine's top rebounder and second-leading scorer, James stands seventh in the PSUAC in rebounding (8.3 rpg), while averaging 12.7 points per game. James' shooting percentage (.488) ranks second in the conference and 13th nationally.

Brandywine (10-5, 6-0 PSUAC) plays on its home court this weekend with a game Friday against Penn State Beaver (6:00 PM) and a Saturday matinee versus Penn State Greater Allegheny (1:00 PM).
