Banks Records 200th Point In Lions' First Win

MONT ALTO, Pa. -- Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) scored all three goals as the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team opened the conference portion of its schedule with a 3-1 victory over Penn State Mont Alto on Saturday.

Banks, who has accounted for all 13 of the team's goals this fall, pushed her career point total to 204 points (92 goals, 20 assists) in 53 matches. Among active women's college soccer players at all levels, only one has scored more goals and recorded more points than Banks.

Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) made four of her five saves during the opening half and earned her first victory of the fall. The Lions yielded just nine shots to Mont Alto, while accumulating 21 shot attempts, with 13 coming off the foot of Banks.

Banks netted all three of her goals during the opening half as the Lions built a commanding lead. She scored just 4:27 into the game and added a second goal off a feed from Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) at the 26:53 mark. Banks completed her hat trick, her third-straight, with just under 10 minutes to play in the half.

Brandywine (1-6, 1-0 PSUAC) returns home to host Penn State Scranton on Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
