Brandywine Knocks Off Beaver; Continues Unbeaten Run Through PSUAC

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team handed Penn State Beaver a 4-0 defeat as the Lions remained unbeaten in the Penn State University Athletic Conference through four matches.

Brandywine received three goals from Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center), giving her at least one goal in nine consecutive games and five three-goal matches this fall. Alyssa Hanrahan (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby) recorded the fourth goal for the Lions, her second of the season.

Banks struck early, scoring in the match's sixth minute to give the Lions a 1-0 edge.

The score remained the same until Hanrahan found the back of the net, doubling the margin at the 47:04 mark.

Nine minutes later, Banks tallied her second score and finished off the hat trick during the 80th minute. She took goalkeeper Emily Bush's (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) long kick and out ran the defense before depositing her 28th goal of the year.

Bush made one save in just over 83 minutes of action, combining with Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) on the shutout. Brandywine put 18 shots on target and outshot Beaver 34-2 overall.

The Lions (6-7, 4-0 PSUAC) can secure their fourth-straight PSUAC regular-season title with a victory at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday (2:00 pm).
