Brandywine Drops Season Opener To Rosemont

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team suffered a season-opening setback as the Lions dropped a 4-0 decision at Rosemont on Thursday evening.

The Ravens scored three times in a 21-minute span of the first half to take the lead and added a fourth tally during the 62nd minute.

Accounting for Brandywine's three shots on goal were Jacora Tippins (Valdosta, Ga./Thomas County Central), Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Leyla Vasquez (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East).

Rosemont goalie Marissa Lotierzo made three stops, including two early in the first half while the game was scoreless, to earn the win.

In net for Brandywine, Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) stopped 10 shots, while playing all 90 minutes.

Brandywine will look to rebound Saturday at Valley Forge at 11:00 AM.
