Carlow Pulls Away In Second Half; Tops Lions In Home Opener

MEDIA, Pa. -- Carlow University scored eight times during the second half and defeated the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team 10-0 during the Lions' home opener on Friday afternoon.

Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) stopped 10 shots during the opening half, keeping Carlow off the scoreboard until the 21st minute when Haley Huber scored the first of her three goals.

Huber's trio of goals had Carlow in front 3-0 through 62 mintues. The Celtics added seven tallies during the final 28 minutes.

Dorvilma finished the game with a career-best 18 saves during 68:48 minutes in net. Eva Galiatsatos (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) blocked four shots over the final 21:12.

Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) recorded the lone shot attempt for the Lions during the 21st minute.

Brandywine (1-3) looks to bounce back Sunday at Washington Adventist (4:00 PM).
