Brandywine Blanks Valley Forge 6-0

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team scored six second-half goals and blanked Valley Forge for the second time this season, earning a 6-0 home victory on Thursday afternoon.

Brandywine, which defeated UVF 10-0 just 11 days ago, received three goals from Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury), while Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) and Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) both contributed a goal and an assist. Leyla Vasquez (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) handed out two assists.

Gia Cetroni's (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) tap in off a feed from Priemon started a Brandywine scoring run that saw the Lions pour in five goals in a span of less than 10 minutes early in the second period.

James was the beneficiary of a long lead pass from Vasquez for her first goal of the day at the 52:16 mark. Two minutes later, Priemon made the count 3-0 with her third goal of the fall.

Lineman collected her team-leading fifth goal during the 59th minute and James capped off her hat trick with tallies during the 61st and 67th minutes.

Brandywine outshot Valley Forge 31-1, putting 11 attempts on target. Lions' goalkeeper Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) stopped the only shot she faced to record the shutout victory.

Brandywine (2-4) will be back at home Saturday for Senior Day against New Jersey City beginning at 1:00 PM.
