Zahran Earns All-United East Second Team Accolades

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was voted to the All-United East Conference Women's Tennis Second Team the league announced on Tuesday.
 
Zahran posted a 9-3 overall singles record, playing all of her 12 matches in the first flight. In conference action, Zahran went 5-2, tying for third-most victories among No. 1 singles players in the conference. She dropped just seven sets this season, while winning eight matches in straight sets.
 
Zahran also competed in 12 No. 1 doubles matches, winning seven times, including four United East triumphs.
 
In two seasons at Brandywine, Zahran owns an 18-6 singles record, posting 9-3 marks during each season. She is the first Brandywine tennis student-athlete to earn an all-conference award since 2011 as Brandywine had played an independent schedule for the 13 seasons.
