Brandywine Fall Athletes Honored For Academics By USCAA

MEDIA, Pa. -- Ten student-athletes represented Penn State Brandywine on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Fall National Academic Teams that were announced during fall championship week recently.

The USCAA National Academic Team is awarded to student-athletes who have accumulated a minimum GPA of 3.50 entering the fall semester and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

Leading the way was Brandywine volleyball, which featured three award winners: Savannah Bauer (San Jose, Calif./Santa Teresa), Laura de Jesus (Santo Domingto, D.R./New Horizons) and Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro).

The men's soccer, women's soccer and golf teams all has two student-athletes honored. From men's soccer, Liam Phieffer (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and Kyle Reuter (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) earned accolades, while Sierra Coleman (Folcroft, Pa./Academy Park) and Caitlin Kaiser (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) represented the women's soccer squad. Marge Reynolds (West Chester, Pa./Westtown School) and Jared Morris (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) claimed golf accolades.

Christian Zita (Freehold, N.J./Colts Neck) received all-academic cross country laurels.

Floyd earned the third USCAA National Academic Team award of her career, while Kaiser, Reuter and Reynolds all claimed their second selections.
