MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine second-year Head Coach Vinny Gallo released the 2018 baseball schedule on Wednesday which features a 37-game slate comprised of 15 Penn State University Athletic Conference games and 22 matchups with NCAA Division III opponents.

Eleven of the team's 13 home games will be played at Maple Zone, including the first four to open the season during the weekend of Feb. 24-25. Brandywine gets the season started by hosting SUNY Cobleskill for a doubleheader on February 24 beginning at noon and then faces Hood College on Sunday, Feb. 25 for two more contests starting at 12:00 pm.

Brandywine then travels south to Florida for its annual Spring Break trip. This spring, Brandywine will play eight games against Division III foes at the Russ Matt Invitational from March 3-9. The Lions will be competing at the Russ Matt Invitational, which annually features some of the top Division III teams in the nation, for the first time since 2008.

Following the week-long stay in Florida, Brandywine plays a pair of road games at Wilkes (Mar. 13) and Gwynedd Mercy (Mar. 16) before returning home for four-straight games at Maple Zone. The team hosts Cabrini for a doubleheader on Sunday, Mar. 18 and then opens PSUAC play on Thursday, Mar. 22 against Penn State Schuylkill.

Schuylkill and Brandywine close out the three-game series on Mar. 24 at Schuylkill during the start of a five-game road trip. Brandywine opens a series with Penn State Wilkes Barre on Mar. 30 between games at Cairn (Mar. 28) and a twinbill at Centenary (Mar. 31). Brandywine and Wilkes Barre complete the three-game series with a doubleheader at Maple Zone on Easter Monday beginning at 6:00 PM.

The Lions' three-game set against Penn State Hazleton (Apr. 6-7) is sandwiched between a pair of road games at Eastern (Apr. 4, Apr. 10). Brandywine closes out the non-conference portion of the schedule at Ursinus on Apr. 18 and then completes the regular season with three games against Penn State Scranton on Apr. 20-21.
